Biography

SHUBHRAJI is a close disciple of renowned Vedantic Master H. H. Swami Chinmayananda. Born in India, she began studying with him at age 13, and continued to do so for the next 20 years. She then dedicated her life to spiritual work. In 1993 she came to the USA, and has ever since been teaching spiritual studies, meditation and about scriptural texts such as the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads, a part of the ancient Vedanta philosophy of India. They are universal in their appeal, and in her spiritual work she has interacted with diverse communities. Shubhraji lectures on numerous spiritual topics: Spiritual Unfoldment, How To Meet Challenges, Managing the Mind, Art of Happiness, Secret of Success, Letting Go of Anger, Relationships in the Light of Eastern Philosophy, Art of Living, Meditation in Daily Life, and original sanskrit texts from the eastern tradition. Although highly knowledeable, Shubhraji brings earthy, good-humored exposition to her teachings. Her students discover a deeper understanding of their nature, the challenges they face, and also learn how they can refocus their attitudes regarding life. Her talks are inspiring and uplifting. They aim at bringing one closer to their true Self. She has been invited by various universities such as Harvard Business School in Boston and St John's College in New Mexico. She has also been invited to speak at the Children’s Spirituality Conference at The Hong Kong Institute of Education Centre for Religious and Spirituality Education and she participated in the Asia Consciousness Festival 2009 in Hong Kong. She is closely involved in the Global Peace Initiative for Women in New York and has been interviewed live on several radio stations in the US and on TV channels internationally.
