Biography

 Maxine was teaching English and Drama when she first began to study Yoga in the 60's. In 1971 at the behest of BKS Iyengar, she began teaching Yoga. She edited the first Iyengar Newsletter in the UK and ran one of the first Iyengar Teacher Training programs. She was accredited with an Advanced Level Certificate by BKS Iyengar for her dedication and achievement in Yoga. She believes that Yoga develops the creative faculty which is in the heart of every individual and without discipline there is no freedom. Maxine is the author of three books. "Stretch and Relax", (Dorling Kindersley1984) and "Complete Stretching" (Knopf;1992) have both been world best sellers. She teaches in London. The anti -aging effect of yoga and nutrition is now her passion with opera and the perfoming arts coming second.
